Installing Optimal Trader

• 1. Double-click the setup file optim_install.exe after downloading it.
• 2. Follow the instructions of the Setup Program. You may need to have administrator privileges on the computer. Click Setup

 

• 3. Click Next

 

• 4. Select the folder you want to install Optimal Trader to and click Next. Do not change the settings between Everyone och Just Me because this can disturb installation on some systems.

 

• 5. Click Next to start the installation

 

• 6. Installationen is complete. Exit the installation program by clicking Close

 

All you have to do now is to double-click the "Optimal Trader" icon on you desktop to start the program. Notice that you have to be connected to the Internet the first time you start Optimal Trader. Good luck!

 

Create User Key

To gain full functionality you have to create a User Key that you have to send to us helping us identifying registered customers. Once you have created a User Key you normally do not have to change it. If you reinstall your computer you have to create a User Key again. If you use the same first and second name when creating your User Key Optimal Trader will gain full functionality again.

1. Start Optimal Trader and click Create User Key. If you already have created a User Key before, the function is found under Options/User Key.
2. Fill in your first and second name and click Create Key.
3. Fill in your customer number and click Send Key to send the User Key to us.
4. Click Close.

Notice that you do not need to send us your User Key if you are re-installing your computer or re-installing Optimal Trader. You only have to send us the User Key again if you are installing Optimal Trader to a new computer.

 

Activating Optimal Trader

After Optimal Trader has been activated the program will gain full functionality. Optimal Trader will be activated when we have received your User Key and registered you payment.

1. Start Optimal Trader. You may see a pop-up box with information that the trial period has ended. Click Ok in that case.
2. Click Add
3. Select a Market, for instance Indices.
4. Click Update under the Sub Market drop-down list

You will now have access to the complete Indices list under the Equity drop-down list and your copy of the software will be activated. You may have to update other lists as well if you have downloaded equities from them in your trial period before.

 

Updating Optimal Trader

1. Download the latest version of Optimal Trader here. You can control the version of your copy under Options / About Optimal Trader.
2. Install the software following the instructions of the installation program. You do not have to uninstall the old version! If you want to keep downloaded equities and settings you must install into the same folder where your old installation rested.
3. Start Optimal Trader. Finished!

 

If you have problems activating Optimal Trader it may be because you are using a different computer or have changed your name information when you created your User Key. In that case, send us your new User Key to for activation. Notice that the old User Key will be de-activated.
